Easy indoor plants for Earth and Arbor Day!!

As much as I love plants and animals; I can't keep plants alive, and I can't be the only one! 


Instead of planting a tree outside for Arbor Day, April 24th, I'm planting an inside plant! (Also to celebrate earth day!) For those of you who don't have land to plant a tree, here's 5 indoor plants that are bound to live: (All listed plants are children and pet safe) 


1. Grape Ivy: 


About: Although it is a vine, this plant thrives in hanging baskets. It has rich green leaves, with lots of texture.

Name: Cissus rhombifolia 

Light: medium light required

Water: keep evenly moist, don't over water


2. Fiddleleaf Fig:


About: A small tree with violin shaped leaves, tolerates low light; sometimes dropping it's lower leaves. If it gets too tall, snip and replant! 

Name: Ficus Lyrata

Light: Medium to bright light preferred

Water: Allow soil surface to dry in between waterings


3. Snake Plant


About: this plant tolerates neglect very well, they can get up to four feet tall and wide. Smaller birds nest sizes are available

Name: Sansevieria Trifasciata

Light: low to bright light

Water: Allow soil surface to dry between waterings


4. Spider Plant


About: Ever seen these at Grandmas? These are an old-fashioned plant that comes in a variety of colors and sizes

Name: Chlorophytum Comosum

Light: Medium to bright light

Water: Keep soil evenly moist 


5. Boston Fern


About: This plant thrives in high humidity, perfect for a hanging basket or setting on a pedestal. Although it looks delicate, this plant will live for decades if kept moist

Name: Nephrolepis Exaltata

Light: Medium to bright light

Water: Keep soil evenly moist
